Multi-Lite designer floor luminaire: additional light source with a wide range of settings

The special feature of this floor lamp from Gubi is the design of the lampshade. The various metal elements - two quarter spheres and two cylinders in the middle - can be rotated around each other so that the light emitted by the lamp used either radiates downwards, is emitted indirectly upwards into the environment or emerges asymmetrically. In this way, a cosy atmosphere can be created as desired, for example in the seating area of the living room, which can always be adapted to the respective requirements.

Louis Weisdorf is the creative mind behind the design of Multi-Lite. The lamp illustrates the versatility that the Danish designer has achieved in the course of his work in the most diverse areas. After graduating from the Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1954, Weisdorf worked in the construction industry and from 1961-1971 at the Tivoli amusement park in Copenhagen, where he held the position of chief assistant to the chief architect. In the late 1960s he founded his own studio in Copenhagen.
