8mm Stainless Steel Carbine – For Wire Rope & Chain Coupling Pack of 2 PLEASE NOTE - We would not advise using these when climbing. They are more commonly used with wire rope installations. Overview – It is often the case that wire ropes aren’t supplied in very long lengths due to the difficulty in shipping huge reels of steel cable. Quick links are used to attach 2 lengths of wire rope cable or chains together securely. Our stainless steel quick links are incredibly tough, can be used in an outdoor environment and are very easy to install. How to install for Wire Rope & Chains – Take 2 lengths of wire rope (or 2 chains) preferably with thimbles on the end. Press the lever/bar down until there is a wide enough gap to feed your cables though. Now overlap the thimbles, place inside of the quick link and tighten up the hex bolt.
