This part consists of a universal toilet cistern lever and a nylon arm. Operating the flush handle will open and close the valve to allow water to flow and refill the cistern.

Toilet valves are also known as ballcocks. These mechanisms control the flow of water so that when the flush lever is pulled, the valve rises, allowing for the water to rush out of the cistern and into the toilet pan. When the water runs out and the handle returns to its original postion, the valve drops back into position, and the cistern refills. The ball float will determine and control the amount of water allowed back into the cistern, to ensure there is no overflow.
