Not of this world: designer hanging light Alien XL

The Alien series of lights by Constantin Wortmann reveals a lot about its appearance in its name. The structure which seems to wind around the fabric cable from the ceiling appears “alien”, i.e. strange. The body made of high-quality, translucent polyethylene is closed all around, which combines with the milky surface to produce complete freedom from glare. The hanging light Alien XL is a striking interior design accessory in private premises such as hotels, bars and other public buildings.

The model Alien XL is part of a series of lights that was designed by the designer Constantin Wortmann from Munich, who has already worked for the well-known lighting designer Ingo Maurer. In recent years, Wortmann has become the head designer of the Cologne lighting factory next lighting. The company was founded by Thomas Schulte in 2000. Since 2005, the Production and Dispatch departments have been located at the Cologne site. All next lights are “made in Germany”.
